What is BarCamp?

BarCamp is an international network of user-generated conferences. These events are open and their content is determined by the participants. The first BarCamps were devoted to early web-attachments, open-source technologies and social networks. Bar Camp's format is also used for discussing variety of other themes, for example, public health services or politics.

BarCamps are usually organized through the Internet. You should get a blog or wiki engine that makes it possible to define the programme of the event, the list of the speakers and the place etc collectively. After that the information about the BarCamp is spread through social networks, twitter, chats etc.

The place where BarCamp is going to be held has to meet the basic needs (requirements). These can be sufficient place for placing all the participants and free Wi-Fi access to the Internet. The presence of sponsors allows giving free drinks and food to the visitors. The participants must be registered beforehand for participating in BarCamp. Almost always participating in BarCamp is free of charge.

The idea of BarCamp is still very young and is not very popular. But nevertheless some similar events were already held in Ukraine. UACamp.net will acquaint you with already conducted and future BarCamps.
